Accomplishments

The Kolos Performing Ensemble is a talented and exuberant group of dancers that range in age from 16 to 30. They are well known locally, provincially, nationally and internationally for their unique style and originality. The group has been an important member of the Regina cultural and arts community and has performed at hundreds of venues.

All dancers train and are inspired by their instructors, to become dedicated dancers, and to constantly strive for perfection in everything they do. Kolos's repertoire consists of dances from the regions of Central Ukraine, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Bukovyna, Hutsulia, Polissia, and Podillia. From exquisite choreography to beautiful costumes imported from Ukraine, Kolos is truly a joy to behold.

In August 2009, Kolos fulfilled a dream by returning to Ukraine to tour and perform. They toured and performed in Western Ukraine, performing to sold out crowds. The dancers were warmly received by the people they met, both on and off the stage. It was an experience cherished by the dancers. Plans for the next tour to Ukraine are underway.

In August 2003, Kolos performed in front of an audience of approximately 400,000 people in Kyiv, Ukraine. The performance was part of a 19-day concert tour working with other professional Ukrainian performers and artists. While in Kyiv, the group was the first group from outside of Ukraine to perform in the Evening gala performance at Independence Square. The performance was also televised on three of Ukraine's national television stations to more than 30 million viewers.

Join Kolos

Kolos is always looking for enthusiastic and experienced dancers to join the Ensemble. Interested dancers should be able to commit to 6 hours per week of rehearsal, as well time together outside practice for tours, festivals and fundraisers.

Interested dancers are always welcome to come to the studio to watch rehearsal.

Performance Requests

Kolos dancers are pleased to promote and share their culture through exciting and entertaining performances. They are able to perform at both large and small engagements, including weddings, anniversaries, awards ceremonies, festivals, banquets, corporate events, concerts and variety of other events.
